At Healthworks Nutrition Centre, we follow principles from the Dr. Kauffman Diet Plan, a structured approach designed to help eliminate fungal overgrowth, improve gut health, and restore balance in the body. This diet is divided into three distinct phases, each with its own purpose and food list. Phase 1 Diet Plan

Phase 1: The Clean Slate

The goal of Phase 1 is to starve out harmful yeasts and fungi by removing their primary fuel sources — sugars and refined carbohydrates.
You’ll focus on fresh vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats while eliminating foods that feed fungal growth such as grains, alcohol, and processed foods.

Most people remain in this phase for 4 to 6 weeks depending on individual progress and guidance from a practitioner.

 




Phase 2 Diet Plan

Phase 2: Rebuilding Balance

Once the gut environment begins to normalize, Phase 2 gradually reintroduces certain foods while maintaining control over yeast-promoting ingredients.

You’ll start to see more variety — such as limited fruits and higher-fiber grains — while still emphasizing clean, unprocessed foods.
This phase supports microbial balance and nutrient restoration.

 





Life Phase Dietary Plan

Phase 3: Long-Term Maintenance

Phase 3 focuses on sustainability — creating a lifelong eating pattern that supports digestive and immune health.
Healthy carbohydrates, occasional treats, and a balanced intake of proteins, fats, and fiber are reintroduced mindfully.

This is the phase where you maintain your results and continue to feel your best.
